Moundsville Housing Authority is a public housing agency that helps provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Many residents of Moundsville have served on our Board of Commissioners over the years. The agency has had nine Executive Directors.
Our scattered site projects consisting of 76 family units and 4 elderly/disabled units were constructed in 1966. These sites are known as Kermit, Gatts and Francine Courts, and Dorsey Street/Burley Court. The Golden Towers, a seven story high-rise consisting of 93 units for elderly/disabled, was built in 197. The Helfer Pavilion, a mid-rise consisting of 39 units was constructed in 1981.
The mission of the Moundsville Housing Authority is to promote adequate affordable housing and economic self-sufficiency opportunities for low to moderate income residents in the City of Moundsville and the Marshall County area in a fiscally sound manner free from discrimination.
